Middle School Volunteering

Cradles to Crayons offers a tangible and meaningful way for children to learn about giving to their community. At the Giving Factory, we'll start by talking about child poverty and homelessness. They then might make wrapping paper, sort building blocks, clean action figures, inspect dolls or fill backpacks.

Two-hour shifts for groups of as many as 20 middle school students are regularly scheduled during the following hours:

Tuesdays through Fridays: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
2nd and 4th Tuesday nights: 5:30 to 8:30 pm
1st, 2nd and 4th Saturdays: 9:30 to 11:30 am
3rd Sundays: 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

(Please note that Saturday and Sunday dates are scheduled starting with the first full weekend of the month i.e. the first weekend in which both a Saturday AND Sunday occur.)

Dates fill up quickly! Many dates are booked at least six weeks in advance for weekdays and three to four months in advance for weekends. Fill out the form below to reserve your Giving Factory shift now.

* We ask that 1 adult leader come with every 4 middle school students on your volunteer date for a safe and positive experience!
* All volunteers under 18 must also bring a C2C Permission Form signed by a parent or guardian on their volunteer date.
* For first-time groups, we require that at least 1 adult leader make a 30-minute site visit prior to the volunteer date for a Giving Factory orientation.
