Manager of Marketing & Communications, Boston

The Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and managing a broad range of initiatives in marketing, communications (print and web-based), media relations, and community relations to promote greater external understanding and participation in the Cradles to Crayons community. 

Responsibilities:

·         Plan and manage content, production, and distribution of C2C e-newsletter, Annual Report, thematic materials around C2C events

·         Write original copy and edit all contributed content

·         Write/plan content for C2C website

·         Help manage a creative team of writers, editors, designers, photographers, and illustrators    

·         Act as media relations officer

Requirements:

·         An undergraduate university degree in English, Journalism, or an allied field preferred

·         Two to five years of professional editorial/media relations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

·         Superior writing and editing skills and an extensive understanding of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation

·         Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation

·         Published writing illustrating the ability to comprehend and reiterate complex subjects in a clear and engaging writing style

·         Ability to create compelling content and use sound judgment when determining publication content

·         Hands-on experience in producing an electronic newsletter from start to finish, including writing for an online environment

·         Ability to work independently, as well as in teams, and to work effectively with a wide range of clients and constituencies

·         Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on several tasks simultaneously

·         Understanding/hands-on experience working with html/web-based content management systems

·         Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, QuarkXPress (or PageMaker), HTML, and Photoshop skills
