Don’t just spring clean, SPRING GREEN!

When you clean out your closets and donate to Cradles to Crayons this Spring, you’re not only supporting children in need in your own community with the clothing, books, and other items they need for success, you’re also keeping valuable resources from becoming landfill waste!

Did you know the average American citizen throws out 70 pounds of clothing per year? Did you also know that 100% of items donated to Cradles to Crayons are reused and repurposed?

During March and April we focus on the importance of material donations–because they keep our model moving all year round. Plus, recycling your new and gently used goods helps support a healthy environment!

Right now we have an increased need for clothing and shoes in sizes birth through 7/8 and books for birth to 2 and 10 to 12. We are also raising awareness and money to support Everyday Essentials–the program that connects have with need for hundreds of thousands of children throughout the year.

Here’s how you can SPRING GREEN!

⇨ Teach Green: Encourage your family to recycle quality items they’ve outgrown. Last year’s favorite jeans, or the bedtime story they couldn’t get enough of, can have a second life in the hands of a local child in need.

⇨ Give Back as a family: Donating to Cradles to Crayons is an easy way to teach your kids the importance of giving back to community and the Earth!

⇨ Cradles to Crayons keeps 200,000 pounds of donations that don’t go directly to children in need out of the landfill!

What’s the impact of one 55-gallon bag full of donations?

One 55-gallon bag will outfit three children for one week!
