Summer 2012 applications are now available!

If you’re a young person looking for a powerful way to help other young people, you should know about our Teen Leadership Corps.

We are looking for middle and high school students who share our vision of helping children in need in Massachusetts receive the items they need most. Through our Teen Leadership Corps, students will join together to make an immediate and tangible difference in the lives of otherchildren.

Teen Leaders have the opportunity to complete service hours in the Giving Factory warehouse, sorting, inspecting and packaging donations for children in low-income or homeless situations in Massachusetts. Students will also work in their own communities to host collections and spread the word about C2C to neighbors and friends.

Apply to join the C2C Teen Leadership Corps!

Our Teen Leadership Corps is a unique group of student leaders looking to develop or improve organizational and leadership skills while working to make a difference in the lives of other kids. Teen Leaders will be given the opportunity to develop these skills through a variety of responsibilities which include coordinating their own product collection, leading volunteer groups at the Giving Factory, participating in Leadership Development Day workshops, and spreading the word about C2C.

Students commit to completing approximately 25 hours per Session and are required to complete all requirements before being eligible for the following Session.

The Teen Leadership Corps program has limited spots available and the application process is highly competitive. As a pre-requisite to applying for the program, we request that all applicants volunteer at least once at The Giving Factory or at a Cradles to Crayons community drive prior to applying for the Teen Leadership Corps program.

Our sessions run as follows:

Spring 2012 Session:February 10, 2012 – June 16, 2012
Summer 2012 Session: June 24, 2012 – September 14, 2012
Fall/Winter 2012 Session: September 28, 2012 – January 26, 2013

To join the Teen Leadership Corps, students are required to complete:

• A Teen Leadership Corps application
• Two recommendation forms from non-relatives

Completed applications and recommendations will be accepted within a one month window before the due dates.  The application periods run from:

Spring Session: December 5, 2011-January 20, 2012
Summer Session: May 1, 2012-June 8, 2012
Fall/Winter Session: August 13, 2012-September 19, 2012

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, and students will be notified of their acceptance by 6pm on the notification date.
