Support our work

Corporate funding represents more than 40% of Cradles to Crayons’ annual revenue. Corporations support Cradles to Crayons’ programs and sponsor signature annual Cradles to Crayons events including the Backpack-A-Thon and the Un-Gala, described below. Companies also donate funds to support their employees’ volunteer or product collection efforts. For more information, email Susan Hight, Development Director, at


Backpack-A-Thon™ in August 6, 2015

This is the signature event in Cradles to Crayons’ year-round efforts to help children succeed in school. Corporate guests will spend a fun, high-energy day stuffing 22,000 thousand backpacks with new school supplies which are then distributed to low-income and homeless children for the start of school. For sponsorship opportunities, email Susan Hight, Development Director, at For more information about our year-round Ready for School program, click here.


Un-Gala in December 2015

This is a lively dress-down event that offers families a perfect venue to join together and have fun while sorting and packing everyday essentials – warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves and more – to help thousands of children stay safe and warm during winter. The warehouse transforms into a family fun venue, complete with games, live entertainment, music, prizes, and a tasty lunch. For more information,contact Suzanne Allen-Weise, Manager of Family Philanthropy,





Volunteering at the Cradles to Crayons warehouse provides an easy avenue for your employees to work together on a common cause. Our volunteer opportunities can provide up to 100 employees or more with a meaningful, productive, and fun team-building experience.

Corporate Volunteer Days

Corporate volunteer days allow corporate employees to work together to sort and process donated children’s items. This may include cleaning and testing toys, inspecting clothing for rips and stains, sorting books by age categories, or matching up outfits for clothing packs. It’s all fun, hands-on work that directly benefits vulnerable children in the five-county region.

Volunteer opportunities available:

  • Wednesday – Friday
    10:00am – 12:00pm and/or 1:00pm – 3:00pm
  • Most Tuesday evenings
    6:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Some Saturdays
    10:00am – 12:00pm and/or 1:00pm – 3:00pm
  • Corporate Cares Day or VTO (Volunteer Time Off) – Looking to hold a company-
    or department-wide volunteer event? Our warehouse is the perfect place to
    put together an awesome team-building experience for you and your group!

Please Note: Each participating child under the age of 18 will need a completed waiver form, signed by their parent/guardian, or they will not be able to volunteer.  We welcome children age 6 and older to the Giving Factory.  Please feel free to email us or call 215-836-0958 with any questions.



Collect children’s product

Collecting new & gently-used children’s items for Cradles to Crayons is a great way for companies to give back to the community without ever leaving the office. A Cradles to Crayons staff member will lead you along the way and provide you with collection bins, fliers, and other materials.
